▶ Practice Studio (Yoga Pass)

Bandhas are subtle inner locks used in yoga to guide breath, awareness, and energy. They are not ordinary exercises and should not be practiced with force. This premium journey helps you understand each Bandha deeply, know when to avoid it, feel what is correct, notice what is unsafe, and practice with the care of a yoga instructor.

What This Journey Teaches You

1
Understand the Meaning
First understand what the Bandha means, where it works in the body, and why it must be practiced carefully.
2
Prepare the Body and Breath
Before applying any lock, the body should be steady, the breath should be calm, and the mind should not be rushed.
3
Learn What to Feel
A correct Bandha feels subtle, steady, and controlled. It should not feel painful, forced, dizzy, or stressful.
4
Practice Gently
Practice only within comfort. Stop immediately if the body gives any warning sign.
5
Reflect After Practice
After each practice, observe the breath, body, and mind. Bandhas should leave you calm, not strained.
Bandhas are intermediate-to-advanced yogic locks. Learn them under a qualified yoga teacher. Avoid during pregnancy, menstruation, high blood pressure, low blood pressure, heart conditions, hernia, ulcers, recent surgery, dizziness, severe anxiety, pain, or any medical concern unless your doctor and yoga teacher approve. Never force.

The Four Core Bandhas

Mula Bandha (Root Lock)
A gentle inner lift at the pelvic floor that supports steadiness, awareness, and inner control.

Uddiyana Bandha (Abdominal Lock)
An advanced abdominal lock practiced after a full exhale on an empty stomach.
Practice only on an empty stomach. Avoid with high blood pressure, low blood pressure, heart disease, hernia, ulcers, pregnancy, menstruation, recent abdominal surgery, dizziness, weakness, or abdominal discomfort.
Jalandhara Bandha (Throat Lock) Intermediate
Jalandhara Bandha (Throat Lock)
A throat lock where the chin is gently lowered toward the chest during guided breath retention.
Avoid with neck injuries, cervical pain, high blood pressure, low blood pressure, heart conditions, dizziness, throat discomfort, or migraine triggered by neck pressure.
Maha Bandha (Great Lock) Advanced
Maha Bandha (Great Lock)
The combined application of Mula Bandha, Uddiyana Bandha, and Jalandhara Bandha. Highly advanced.
