॥ श्री कुष्मांडा चालीसा ॥
॥ दोहा ॥
हे चक्रांक, हे चक्रधर, हे जगजननी माँ।
कुष्मांडा रूप धरि, करो भक्त पर छाँह॥
॥ चौपाई ॥
जयति कुष्मांडा जयति भवानी। तुम जगजननी सुखदानी॥
कुश से मंद, हास्य से पूर्ण। तुम हो माँ, सकल सुर-शूर्ण॥
सिंह वाहिनी, अष्टभुजा धारी। त्रिशूल, खड्ग, गदाधारी॥
अमृत कलश, सिद्धियों की दाता। भक्तों के तुम हो सुखदाता॥
ब्रह्मांड रच्यो जब अंधकार। तुम हँसि कीन्हो उजियार॥
चतुर्थी तिथि तुमको प्यारी। व्रत से मिटे विपदा सारी॥
कष्ट निवारिणी, रोग विनाशिनि। तुम हो माँ, अति गुण रासिनी॥
जो तुमको ध्यावे मन लाई। सो पावे सुख सम्पति भाई॥
तुम्हरे तेज से जग उजियारा। तुम हो माँ, सकल पसारा॥
अष्टभुजाओं में अस्त्र सुहावे। देखत ही शत्रु काँप जावे॥
रक्तबीज को मार गिरायो। महिषासुर को छय कर आयो॥
तुम हो आदिशक्ति, तुम हो माया। तुम ही हो जग की छाया॥
जो पढ़े प्रेम से चालीसा। मिटे सकल दुख, होवे ईसा॥
तुम्हरे नाम से सब भय भागे। तुम हो माँ, जग के आगे॥
जो तुमको नित ध्यावे, पूजे। सो पावे सुख, न दुख दूजे॥
तुम हो माँ, परम कृपाला। तुम बिन जीवन सब आला॥
भक्तों की तुम सदा सहाई। तुम बिन कौन सुने दुहाई॥
हे माँ, तुमको शत शत वंदन। तुम हो माँ, जग के चंदन॥

कुष्मांडा चालीसा, पढ़े जो नर नार।
धन-धान्य से पूर्ण हो, मिटे सकल संसार॥

Jayati Kushmanda Jayati Bhavani | Tum Jagjanani Sukhdani ||
Kush se mand, hasya se poorn | Tum ho Maa, sakal sur-shurn ||
Simh vahini, ashtabhuja dhari | Trishool, khadga, gadadhari ||
Amrit kalash, siddhion ki data | Bhakton ke tum ho sukhdata ||
Brahmand rachyo jab andhkar | Tum hansi kinho ujiyar ||
Chaturthi tithi tumko pyari | Vrat se mite vipda sari ||
Kasht nivarini, rog vinashini | Tum ho Maa, ati gun rasini ||
Jo tumko dhyave man lai | So pave sukh sampati bhai ||
Tumhre tej se jag ujiyara | Tum ho Maa, sakal pasara ||
Ashtabhujayon mein astra suhave | Dekhat hi shatru kaanp jave ||
Raktbeej ko maar girayo | Mahishasur ko chhay kar aayo ||
Tum ho Aadishakti, tum ho Maya | Tum hi ho jag ki chhaya ||
Jo padhe prem se chalisa | Mite sakal dukh, hove Isa ||
Tumhre naam se sab bhay bhage | Tum ho Maa, jag ke aage ||
Jo tumko nit dhyave, pooje | So pave sukh, na dukh dooje ||
Tum ho Maa, param kripala | Tum bin jeevan sab aala ||
Bhakton ki tum sada sahayi | Tum bin kaun sune duhahi ||
He Maa, tumko shat shat vandan | Tum ho Maa, jag ke chandan ||
Kushmanda Chalisa, padhe jo nar naar |
Dhan-dhanya se poorn ho, mite sakal sansar ||
अर्थ: हे चक्र के चिन्ह वाली, हे चक्र धारण करने वाली, हे समस्त जगत की जननी माँ! कुष्मांडा रूप धारण करके, अपने भक्तों पर अपनी कृपा की शीतल छाया कीजिए।
O Mother, marked by the discus, O wielder of the discus, O Mother of the entire universe! Assuming your form as Kushmanda, please cast your merciful shade upon your devotees.
अर्थ: कुष्मांडा माँ की जय हो! भवानी माँ की जय हो! आप ही समस्त जगत की जननी हैं और सभी को सुख प्रदान करने वाली हैं।
Victory to Mother Kushmanda! Victory to Mother Bhavani! You are indeed the Mother of the entire universe and the bestower of all happiness.
अर्थ: आप अपने मंद, मधुर हास्य से परिपूर्ण हैं, हे माँ! आप समस्त देवताओं में श्रेष्ठ और पूजनीय हैं।
You are filled with a gentle, sweet smile, O Mother! You are supreme and revered among all deities.
अर्थ: आप सिंह पर विराजमान हैं, आठ भुजाओं को धारण करने वाली हैं। आप त्रिशूल, खड्ग (तलवार) और गदा जैसे शक्तिशाली अस्त्रों को धारण करती हैं।
You are seated upon a lion, possessing eight arms. You wield powerful weapons such as the trident, sword, and mace.
अर्थ: आप अमृत कलश को धारण करने वाली और समस्त सिद्धियों को प्रदान करने वाली हैं। आप ही अपने भक्तों को परम सुख प्रदान करने वाली हैं।
You hold the pot of nectar and are the bestower of all spiritual accomplishments (siddhis). You are indeed the giver of ultimate happiness to your devotees.
अर्थ: जब यह संपूर्ण ब्रह्मांड गहन अंधकार में डूबा था, तब हे माँ कूष्मांडा, आपने अपनी दिव्य मुस्कान से उसमें प्रकाश भर दिया और सृष्टि का आरंभ किया।
When the entire universe was enveloped in profound darkness, O Mother Kushmanda, you filled it with light through your divine smile and initiated creation.
अर्थ: हे माँ, चतुर्थी तिथि आपको अत्यंत प्रिय है। इस पवित्र तिथि पर आपका व्रत करने से भक्त के जीवन की समस्त विपदाएँ और कष्ट दूर हो जाते हैं।
O Mother, the Chaturthi (fourth lunar day) is exceedingly dear to you. Observing a sacred fast on this auspicious day eradicates all calamities and sufferings from the devotee's life.
अर्थ: हे माँ, आप सभी प्रकार के कष्टों का निवारण करने वाली और समस्त रोगों का नाश करने वाली हैं। आप तो गुणों की साक्षात् राशि हैं, अनंत सद्गुणों से परिपूर्ण हैं।
O Mother, you are the remover of all kinds of suffering and the destroyer of all diseases. You are indeed the very embodiment of virtues, replete with infinite good qualities.
अर्थ: जो भी भक्त एकाग्र मन से, पूर्ण श्रद्धा के साथ आपका ध्यान करता है, हे भाई (भक्तजन), वह निश्चित रूप से जीवन में सुख, शांति और समस्त प्रकार की संपत्ति प्राप्त करता है।
Whichever devotee meditates upon you with a focused mind and complete devotion, O brother (devotee), he or she certainly attains happiness, peace, and all kinds of prosperity in life.
अर्थ: हे माँ, आपके अलौकिक तेज से ही यह संपूर्ण संसार प्रकाशित है। आप ही इस समस्त सृष्टि का विस्तार हैं, कण-कण में आपकी ही सत्ता व्याप्त है।
O Mother, this entire world is illuminated by your divine radiance. You are the expansion of this whole creation; your presence pervades every particle.
अर्थ: आपकी आठ भुजाओं में विभिन्न दिव्य अस्त्र-शस्त्र सुशोभित होते हैं, जिन्हें देखते ही शत्रु भय से काँप उठते हैं।
Divine weapons gracefully adorn your eight arms; upon seeing them, even enemies tremble with fear.
अर्थ: आपने रक्तबीज जैसे दुर्दांत राक्षस का संहार किया और महिषासुर का भी नाश करके धर्म की स्थापना की।
You annihilated formidable demons like Raktabija and destroyed Mahishasura, thereby establishing righteousness.
अर्थ: आप ही आदिम शक्ति हैं, आप ही ब्रह्मांड को रचने वाली माया हैं, और आप ही इस संपूर्ण जगत का आधार एवं आश्रय हैं।
You are the primordial cosmic power, you are the divine illusion (Maya) that creates the universe, and you are the very foundation and shelter of this entire world.
अर्थ: जो भी भक्त इस चालीसा का पाठ श्रद्धा और प्रेमपूर्वक करता है, उसके समस्त दुख-कष्ट मिट जाते हैं और वह ईश्वरतुल्य आनंद व शांति को प्राप्त करता है।
Any devotee who recites this Chalisa with devotion and love finds all their sorrows and sufferings eradicated, attaining divine joy and peace akin to the Supreme Being.
अर्थ: आपके पवित्र नाम का स्मरण करते ही सभी प्रकार के भय दूर हो जाते हैं। हे माँ, आप इस संपूर्ण जगत में सबसे श्रेष्ठ और अग्रणी हैं।
Merely by remembering your sacred name, all types of fears vanish. O Mother, you are the supreme and foremost in this entire universe.
अर्थ: जो भक्त आपको नित्य ध्यानपूर्वक पूजता है, वह परम सुख को प्राप्त करता है और उसे किसी अन्य दुख का सामना नहीं करना पड़ता।
One who constantly meditates upon and worships You, attains supreme happiness and never encounters any other sorrow.
अर्थ: हे माँ, आप परम कृपालु और दयालु हैं। आपके बिना यह जीवन सर्वथा व्यर्थ और निरर्थक है।
O Mother, You are supremely compassionate and merciful. Without You, this life is utterly futile and meaningless.
अर्थ: आप अपने भक्तों की सदैव सहायता करने वाली हैं। आपके अतिरिक्त और कौन हमारी पुकार और प्रार्थना सुनेगा?
You are always the helper of Your devotees. Besides You, who else would listen to our pleas and prayers?
अर्थ: हे माँ, आपको सैकड़ों-सैकड़ों बार मेरा प्रणाम है। आप ही इस संसार की सुगंध, शोभा और पवित्रता हैं।
O Mother, I offer You hundreds and hundreds of salutations. You are the very fragrance, beauty, and purity of this world.
अर्थ: जो भी पुरुष या स्त्री इस कुष्मांडा चालीसा का भक्तिपूर्वक पाठ करते हैं, वे धन-धान्य से परिपूर्ण हो जाते हैं और उनके सभी सांसारिक कष्ट और दुख समाप्त हो जाते हैं।
Any man or woman who recites this Kushmanda Chalisa with devotion becomes abundant in wealth and prosperity, and all their worldly sufferings and sorrows are eradicated.
