चंद्र सी ज्योत तुम्हारी, जल निर्मल आता ।
शरण पड़े जो तेरी, सो नर तर जाता ॥

पुत्र सगर के तारे, सब जग को ज्ञाता ।
कृपा दृष्टि तुम्हारी, त्रिभुवन सुख दाता ॥

एक ही बार जो तेरी, शरण आ जाता ।
यम की त्रास मिटाकर, परम गति पाता ॥

आरती मात तुम्हारी, जो जन नित्य गाता ।
दास वही सहज में, मुक्ति को पाता ॥

अर्थ: हे माँ गंगे, आपकी जय हो, हे श्री गंगे माता! जो मनुष्य आपका ध्यान करता है, वह अपनी मनचाही इच्छाओं को प्राप्त कर लेता है। हे माँ गंगे, आपकी जय हो!
O Mother Ganga, victory be to you, O Shri Ganga Mata! The one who meditates upon you attains all their desired fruits. Victory to Mother Ganga!
अर्थ: आपकी ज्योति चंद्रमा के समान शीतल है और आपका जल अत्यंत निर्मल आता है। जो भी आपकी शरण में आता है, वह मनुष्य भवसागर से पार हो जाता है। हे माँ गंगे, आपकी जय हो!
Your light is like the moon, and your water flows pure. Whoever takes refuge in you, that person crosses over (the ocean of existence). Victory to Mother Ganga!
अर्थ: आपने सगर के पुत्रों का उद्धार किया, यह बात सारा संसार जानता है। आपकी कृपा दृष्टि तीनों लोकों को सुख प्रदान करने वाली है। हे माँ गंगे, आपकी जय हो!
You liberated the sons of Sagar, this is known to the entire world. Your compassionate gaze bestows happiness upon all three worlds. Victory to Mother Ganga!
अर्थ: जो एक बार भी आपकी शरण में आ जाता है, उसके यमराज का भय मिट जाता है और वह परम गति को प्राप्त करता है। हे माँ गंगे, आपकी जय हो!
