लवथवती विक्राळा ब्रह्मांडी माळा ।
विषें कंठ काळा त्रिनेत्रीं ज्वाळा ॥
लावण्यसुंदर मस्तकीं बाळा ।
तेथुनियां जल निर्मळ वाहे झुळझुळां ॥ १ ॥
जय देव जय देव जय श्री शंकरा ।
आरती ओवाळूं तुज कर्पूरगौरा ॥ ध्रु० ॥
कर्पूरगौरा भोळा नयनीं विशाळा ।
अर्धांगीं पार्वती सुमनांच्या माळा ॥
विभुतीचें उधळण शितिकंठ नीळा ।
ऐसा शंकर शोभे उमावेल्हाळा ॥ २ ॥

आरती ओवाळूं तुज कर्पूरगौरा ॥ ध्रु० ॥
देवीं दैत्यीं सागरमंथन केलें ।
तेंव्हा विष तें आधीं तुवां भक्षिलें ॥
तेणें नीळकंठ नाम प्रसिद्ध झालें ।
सर्वही सुरवर तुजलागीं भ्यालें ॥ ३ ॥

अर्थ: आप अत्यंत तेजस्वी और विकराल रूप वाले हैं, आपके गले में ब्रह्मांड की माला सुशोभित है। आपने विषपान कर अपने कंठ को काला कर लिया है और आपके तीनों नेत्रों से ज्वाला निकलती है। आपके मस्तक पर चंद्रमा (बालचंद्र) अत्यंत सुंदर लगता है, और वहीं से निर्मल गंगाजल कलकल ध्वनि करते हुए बहता है।
You are resplendent and awe-inspiring, adorned with the garland of the universe. Your throat is dark from consuming poison, and flames emanate from your three eyes. A beautiful crescent moon adorns your forehead, from where pure Ganga water flows with a gentle murmur.
अर्थ: हे देवों के देव, हे श्री शंकर, आपकी जय हो! हम कर्पूर के समान गौर वर्ण वाले आपको आरती उतारते हैं।
Victory to you, O Lord of Lords, Shri Shankara! We offer this Aarti to you, whose complexion is as fair as camphor.
अर्थ: आप कर्पूर के समान गौर वर्ण वाले, भोलेनाथ हैं, जिनकी आँखें विशाल हैं। आपके आधे अंग में माता पार्वती विराजमान हैं और आपने फूलों की माला धारण की है। आप भस्म का लेपन करते हैं और आपका कंठ विष के कारण नीला है। ऐसे उमापति शंकर अत्यंत शोभायमान लगते हैं।
You are fair like camphor, the innocent one, with large, expansive eyes. Mother Parvati resides in half of your body, and you wear garlands of flowers. You are smeared with sacred ash, and your throat is blue due to poison. Such is the splendor of Shankara, the beloved of Uma.
अर्थ: हे देवों के देव, हे श्री शंकर, आपकी जय हो! हम कर्पूर के समान गौर वर्ण वाले आपको आरती उतारते हैं।

अर्थ: जब देवताओं और दैत्यों ने मिलकर सागर मंथन किया, तब सबसे पहले आपने ही उस विष का पान किया। इसी कारण आपका नाम नीलकंठ प्रसिद्ध हुआ। सभी देवता उस विष से भयभीत थे, लेकिन आपने उसे ग्रहण कर लिया।
When the gods and demons churned the ocean, you were the first to consume the poison that emerged. Due to this, you became renowned as Nilakantha (the blue-throated one). All the gods were terrified of that poison, but you graciously accepted it.
अर्थ: हे देवों के देव, हे श्री शंकर, आपकी जय हो! हम कर्पूर के समान गौर वर्ण वाले आपको आरती उतारते हैं।

अर्थ: आप बाघाम्बर धारण करने वाले, सर्पों को धारण करने वाले, सुंदर और कामदेव के शत्रु हैं। आप पंचानन (पांच मुख वाले) हैं, मन को मोहने वाले और मुनियों को सुख प्रदान करने वाले हैं। करोड़ों बीजों (मंत्रों) का उच्चारण आपकी वाणी से होता है। रघुकुल के तिलक (भगवान राम) रामदास के हृदय में निवास करते हैं।
You wear a tiger skin, adorn yourself with serpents, are beautiful, and the vanquisher of Kama (the god of love). You are five-faced (Panchana), enchanting to the mind, and the bestower of joy to sages. Billions of seeds (mantras) are uttered through your voice. The jewel of the Raghu dynasty, Lord Rama, resides in the heart of Ramdasa (the devotee).
