हे शारदे माँ, हे शारदे माँं,
अज्ञानता से हमें तार दे मां॥
तू स्वर की देवी ये संगीत तुझ से,
हर शब्द तेरा है हर गीत तुझ से।
हम है अकेले, हम है अधूरे,
तेरी शरण हम, हमें प्यार दे मां॥
मुनियों ने समझी, गुनियों ने जानी,
वेदों की भाषा, आगम की बानी।
हम भी तो समझे, हम भी तो जाने,
विद्या का हमको अधिकार दे मां॥
तू श्वेतवर्णी कमल पे विराजे,
हाथों में वीणा, मुकुट सिर पे साझे।
मन से हमारे मिटाके अंधेरे,
हमको उजालों का संसार दे मां॥

Tu swar ki Devi ye sangeet tujh se,
Har shabd tera hai har geet tujh se.
Ham hain akele, ham hain adhoore,
Teri sharan ham, hamein pyar de Maa ||
Muniyon ne samjhi, guniyon ne jaani,
Vedo ki bhasha, aagam ki baani.
Ham bhi to samjhe, ham bhi to jaane,
Vidya ka hamko adhikar de Maa ||
Tu shwetvarni kamal pe viraje,
Hathon mein veena, mukut sir pe sajhe.
Man se hamare mitake andhere,
Hamko ujalon ka sansar de Maa ||
अर्थ: हे माँ शारदे, हे माँ शारदे, हमें अज्ञानता के अंधकार से पार कर दो।
O Mother Sharda, O Mother Sharda, Deliver us from ignorance, O Mother.
अर्थ: आप ही स्वर की देवी हैं, यह सारा संगीत आपसे ही है। प्रत्येक शब्द और प्रत्येक गीत आपसे ही उत्पन्न होता है। हम अकेले और अधूरे हैं, हम आपकी शरण में हैं, हमें अपना प्रेम और आशीर्वाद प्रदान करें।
You are the Goddess of sound, all music originates from You; Every word is Yours, every song is Yours. We are alone, we are incomplete, We are in Your refuge, grant us Your love, O Mother.
अर्थ: ऋषियों ने आपको समझा है, विद्वानों ने आपको जाना है, वेदों की भाषा और शास्त्रों की वाणी आप ही हैं। हम भी आपको समझें, हम भी आपको जानें, हमें विद्या का अधिकार प्रदान करें, माँ।
The sages have understood You, the wise have known You, You are the language of the Vedas, the speech of the Agamas. May we also understand, may we also know, Grant us the right to knowledge, O Mother.
अर्थ: आप श्वेत वर्ण वाली हैं और कमल पर विराजमान हैं, आपके हाथों में वीणा सुशोभित है और सिर पर मुकुट शोभायमान है। हमारे मन से अज्ञान के अंधकार को मिटाकर, हमें ज्ञान के प्रकाशमय संसार का अनुभव कराएं, माँ।
You are white-complexioned, seated on a lotus, A Veena adorns Your hands, a crown graces Your head. Eradicating the darkness from our minds, Grant us a world of light, O Mother.
