दो भुज चार चतुर्भुज, दसभुज अति सोहे ।
त्रिगुण रूप निरखते, त्रिभुवन जन मोहे ॥

श्वेताम्बर पीताम्बर, बाघाम्बर अंगे ।
सनकादिक गरुड़ादिक, भूतादिक संगे ॥

जगकर्ता जगभर्ता, जगसंहारकर्ता ॥

अर्थ: हे शिव ओंकार! आपकी जय हो, हे प्रभु शिव ओंकार! आपकी जय हो। ब्रह्मा, विष्णु और सदाशिव (आप ही हैं), जिन्होंने अर्द्धांगिनी (पार्वती) को धारण किया है। हे शिव ओंकार! आपकी जय हो।
O victory to Shiva, the Omkara! O Lord, victory to Shiva, the Omkara! You are Brahma, Vishnu, and Sadashiva, who holds His consort (Parvati) as half of His being. O victory to Shiva, the Omkara!
अर्थ: आप एक मुख वाले (ब्रह्मा), चार मुख वाले (विष्णु), और पाँच मुख वाले (शिव) के रूप में सुशोभित होते हैं। आप हंस (ब्रह्मा का वाहन), गरुड़ (विष्णु का वाहन) और वृषभ (शिव का वाहन) पर विराजमान होते हैं।
You appear as the one-faced (Brahma), the four-faced (Vishnu), and the five-faced (Shiva). You are adorned with the swan (Brahma's vehicle), Garuda (Vishnu's vehicle), and the bull (Shiva's vehicle).
अर्थ: आप दो भुजाओं वाले, चार भुजाओं वाले और दस भुजाओं वाले रूप में अत्यंत सुशोभित होते हैं। आपके इन त्रिगुणात्मक रूपों को देखकर तीनों लोकों के लोग मोहित हो जाते हैं।
You are exceedingly beautiful in your forms with two arms, four arms, and ten arms. Beholding these three-fold forms (representing the Gunas), the people of the three worlds are enchanted.
अर्थ: आपके शरीर पर श्वेत वस्त्र (शिव), पीले वस्त्र (विष्णु) और बाघाम्बर (शिव) सुशोभित होते हैं। सनकादि ऋषि, गरुड़ आदि देवगण और भूत-प्रेत भी आपके साथ रहते हैं।
White garments (Shiva), yellow garments (Vishnu), and tiger skin (Shiva) adorn your body. Sages like Sanaka, divine beings like Garuda, and even spirits and goblins accompany you.
अर्थ: आपके हाथों में कमंडलु (ब्रह्मा), चक्र (विष्णु) और त्रिशूल (शिव) शोभायमान हैं। आप ही संसार के रचयिता, पालनकर्ता और संहारकर्ता हैं।
In your hands, you hold the Kamandalu (water pot, Brahma), Chakra (discus, Vishnu), and Trishul (trident, Shiva). You are the creator, sustainer, and destroyer of the universe.
अर्थ: जो अज्ञानी ब्रह्मा, विष्णु और सदाशिव को अलग-अलग जानते हैं, वे नहीं जानते कि प्रणवाक्षर (ॐ) के भीतर ये तीनों एक ही हैं।
Those who ignorantly perceive Brahma, Vishnu, and Sadashiva as separate do not know that within the sacred syllable Om (Pranava), these three are one.
अर्थ: लक्ष्मी (विष्णु की शक्ति), सावित्री (ब्रह्मा की शक्ति) और पार्वती (शिव की शक्ति) आपके साथ हैं। पार्वती आपकी अर्द्धांगिनी हैं, और गंगा आपकी जटाओं में शिवलहरी के रूप में विराजमान हैं।
Lakshmi (consort of Vishnu), Savitri (consort of Brahma), and Parvati (consort of Shiva) are with you. Parvati is your better half, and the Ganga flows as a divine stream from your matted locks.
अर्थ: काशी (वाराणसी) में आप विश्वनाथ के रूप में नंदी के साथ विराजमान हैं। आप ब्रह्मचारी रूप धारण करके भी अपनी जटाओं में शिवलहरी गंगा को धारण करते हैं।
In Kashi (Varanasi), you reside as Vishwanath, accompanied by Nandi. Though a supreme renunciate (Brahmachari), you bear the sacred Ganga in your matted locks.
अर्थ: स्वामी शिवानंद कहते हैं कि जो कोई भी इन त्रिगुणों के स्वामी (भगवान शिव) की यह आरती गाता है, वह अपनी मनचाही इच्छाओं का फल प्राप्त करता है।
Swami Shivanand says that whoever sings this Aarti of the Lord of the three Gunas (Lord Shiva) attains the desired fruits of their heart.
